The May 26th, 2012 Wedding of
James & Emily
James and Emily

Our Story

Fate has a funny way of playing matchmaker. Neither James nor I were expecting to fall in love and embark on a whirlwind romance that would inevitably change our lives forever. Corny I know, but that’s the truth! Allow me to set the scene. It was January 2011, James was a full-time adjunct instructor teaching web design at Belmont University in Nashville, TN and simultaneously finishing up his Master’s degree at Savannah College of Art and Design. Needless to say, James was one busy guy! I was working at Hartmann Luggage in Lebanon, TN doing graphic design and marketing. In my free time, I was doing freelance design work. When one day, an opportunity to build a website for a client landed in my lap. Unlike James, who loves writing html code, I’m well versed in the traditional sense. Acquainted with each other from Belmont (we both went there for our undergraduate degrees) and my being a Pixolio client of James’…he was my go to guy for anything web related. So, I punched in James’ digits and called for some web design advice. I would like to say that James was a big help on this project, ha-ha, but we ended up talking for over two hours about our recent world travels and everything in between. It was so much fun just chatting! Everything just felt so natural to us both. Before hanging up, James invited me to go for a drink and to continue our myriad of conversations. Like I said before, neither of us had any expectations of chemistry, but it quickly became apparent that this chatty get together at Bar No.308 had turned into a date. Turns out, we both went home afterwards and called our respective buddies to confess that this was not an ordinary date…this was special and we couldn’t wait to see each other again.

Ever since that fateful day in January, our lives have been full of adventure and excitement! In the short time we have been together, we have spent time in Berlin, London, Hawaii, NYC, Chicago, and St. Louis and have traveled throughout the south spending time with family and friends. With each other’s support we have overcome any challenges we have faced in our lives and careers thus far.
